Opening times

The traffic restriction is planned:

ZTL daytime Trastevere
from 6.30 to 10.00 every day, except holidays daytime

ZTL Centro Storico
6.30 to 18.00, Monday to Friday (except public holidays)
14.00 to 18.00 p.m., Saturdays (except public holidays)

ZTL Old Town by night
23.00 - 3.00, Fridays and Saturdays (including holidays).

Night-time ZTL Trastevere
from 21.30 to 3.00, Fridays and Saturdays (even on holidays)
from May to October it is active also on Wednesday and Thursday with the same hours

Night-time ZTL San Lorenzo
from 21.30 to 3.00, Fridays and Saturdays (even on public holidays)
from May to October it is active also on Wednesday and Thursday with the same times

Testaccio night-time ZTL
from 23.00 to 3.00, Friday and Saturday (except holidays)

ZTL Trident
6.30 -7.00, Monday to Friday (except public holidays)
10.00 - 19.00, on Saturdays (except public holidays)

During the month of August, the night-time ZTL is suspended.

In August the Night LZT (Limited Traffic Zone) are suspended.

Information

PLEASE NOTE:
from Monday 15 March, and until Tuesday 6 April, all the gates of the ZTL of the Historic Center, Tridente, Trastevere, Testaccio and San Lorenzo, day and night, are disabled.

From Monday, March 1, 2021 - in accordance with the Law Act "Semplificazione e Innovazione Digitale" (Simplification and Digital Innovation) - Roma Servizi per la Mobilità will activate the PagoPA system also for the payment of ZTL permits, disabled people badges, horse track licenses and NCC buses.
Stamp marks will no longer be used and will be included in the overall cost of what is requested.

Description

With an extension of 4.2 square kilometres, Rome's restricted traffic zone is one of the largest in Europe. The access restriction system must protect the great historical and archaeological heritage of our city, protect the quality of life of whole city districts and provide an incentive for public transport to reduce pollution.
