Description

This fascinating exhibition explores the history of the ancient culture of Azerbaijan in the period dating back to the explorations of Marco Polo.
Please note: the exhibition has been extended to May 13, 2012.

The exhibition aims to explore the whole territory of Azerbaijan and will allow visitors to trace the caravan routes that ran from Baku to Gobustan, Shamakhi, Gabala, Shaki, Barda, Karabakh and Ordubad.

The exhibition explores the history of the ancient culture of Azerbaijan back to the days of Marco Polo and presents ancient stones of the villages that date back over 20,000 years, now part of UNESCO’s World Heritage.

Of the same period are the antique silk rugs on display together with other archaeological finds of great interest.
