The fountain and the square it is placed in are works by Raffaele De Vico, the architect that has left a decisive mark on many public works built between the twenties and the sixties. The fountain was completed in 1927. It consists of a large octagonal pond fed by plain corbels surmounted by Roman eagles. The sculptural parts are by Ermenegildo Luppi.
