Arco di Dolabella e Silano
Address: Via di San Paolo della Croce
Zone: Rione Celio (Terme di Caracalla) (Roma centro)
The arch of Dolabella, perhaps a reconstruction in travertine of the previous Porta Caelimontana in the Servian Walls, was reutilized in the stretch that passed through the via dei SS. Giovanni e Paolo to support the Neronian aqueduct. The external facade presents an inscription that is not very readable now and shows the names of the consuls of the year 10 AD P.Cornelius Dolabella and C.Giunius Silanus who by decree of the Senate gave out the work by contract and had it tested.
