Description

The church was built between 1896 and 1914 for the Friars of Charity, known as the Bigi Fathers (founded by Ludovico da Casoria), by architects Cursi and Cortese; it was consecrated by Cardinal Luigi Traglia on 21 April 1942, as a plaque at the entrance recalls. It is in neo-Gothic style and has a façade flanked by two low bell towers; above the entrance portal is a mosaic of the Immaculate Virgin wrapped in a cloak decorated with stars. The interior has three naves divided by columns, with stained glass windows.

The congregation of the Bigi Fathers was dissolved in 1973. Today the church is a subsidiary place of worship of the parish of Saints Marcellinus and Peter at the Lateran.
