Description

The Chiostro del Bramante celebrates its 20 years of activity with an international exhibition.

The most innovative, must-see event among Rome’s cultural offer in recent years, this show will put the city on a par with the most respected international exhibition centres. It brings together, for the very first time, icons of contemporary art like Yayoi Kusama, Tom Wesselmann, Andy Warhol, Robert Indiana, Gilbert & George, Francesco Vezzoli, Tracey Emin, Marc Quinn, Francesco Clemente, Joana Vasconcelos, whose works express highly experimental languages (as one of the last works of Kusama All the Eternal Love I Have for the Pumpkins which is among the most instagrammed art works in the world) that will involve and stimulate the public on many different levels.

Art meets love

The Rome exhibition addresses one of the most universally recognized feelings, Love, which has always been explored and represented. It recounts the myriad facets and infinite variations of this phenomenon. Love that is happy, longed for, misunderstood, hated, ambiguous, transgressive and childish, examined through an unconventional itinerary characterized by visual and perceptual input.

Love goes beyond the museum concept

The real star of the show is the public. They can take possession of the exhibition spaces and both appreciate and popularize the works, since they are free to photograph them all (official hashtag #chiostrolove). This experience pivots on 360-degree sensory involvement, based on the concepts of open access and the constantly-evolving museum.
