Description

An exhibition of photographs by Maurizio Orrico.

In this new solo exhibition Maurizio Orrico presents a sort of travel journal, using different tools, such as digital and Leica cameras, but without a didactic model of reportage.
Orrico shows us details that can be extremely particular and universal at the same time. The views of the popular districts of Beijing, tangles of electric cables that run between a roof and the other to darken skies saturated with soot, on the one hand are able to capture the daily life of the Chinese capital and on the other anticipate a catastrophic Blade Runner like imagery.
As well as the clean geometry of Berlin, with the profiles of the newest buildings to cut sharp the horizon, are indeed the portrait of a place risen from the ashes, but at the same time seem to allude to the utopia of an ideal city.
