Il film, apprezzato per il suo realismo ma anche per il modo sofisticato che usa per commuovere il pubblico, è stato presentato in prima internazionale al Festival di Venezia, e si è aggiudicato il premio Ophir per la migliore regia e come miglior film all’Accademia israeliana del cinema. Years ago, young Palestinian boy Sanfur was recruited as an informer by the Israeli secret services. He develops a very intimate, mutually dependent relationship with Razi, his Israeli agent contact. When the Israelis want information about Sanfur’s brother, under investigation for illegal activities, things get complicated and the situation explodes. This personal drama, steeped in secrets and lies, plays out on the backdrop of the occupied territories, where militants, politicians, terrorists and soldiers all fight among themselves in a battle where it is impossible to distinguish the “good guys” from the “bad guys”. The film has been praised for its realism and the sophisticated way it stirs the audience’s emotions. It was presented as an international premiere in the Venice Days section of the 70th Venice Film Festival, and won Ophir awards for Best Director and Best Picture assigned by the Israel Film Academy.
