Description
S. SALVATORE ALLE COPPELLE In C. XI it was built over a pre-existingchurch appointed to S. Maria della Pietà. In 1196 Celestino III restored andreconsacrated it naming it San Salvatore alle Coppelle and ordering thebuilding of the bell tower. In 1739 the church underwent a wide restoration andat the same time the facade was remade on a project by Carlo De Dominicis. The simple façade presents a portal surmountedby a rectangular window. By the sides one finds two portals dominated by twoframed circles. At thebottom end of the interior, made of three naves, one finds an iconostasisdecorated with the portrait of the ”Ultima Cena”.
