SANTA MARIA DEL PRIORATO The church too belongs to the Ordine Sovrano di Malta and was completely remodeled and decorated by Gian Battista Piranesi in 1765, who turned it into one of the most beautiful neoclassical creations, so original on the whole and in the decorative particulars. The façade has a single order of fluted pilaster strips, with rich capitols and a portal surmounted by an oculus and a triangular tympanum. The interior, very evocative and with a Latin cross with side niches and apse, is roofed by a vault richly decorated by stuccoes.
