Description

Founded in the Middle Ages on the place where the Apollinarian games took place, the church was rebuilt by Ferdinando Fuga during C.XVIII, by the order of Pope Benedetto XIV. It is dedicated to the saint that, according to tradition, accompanied San Pietro da Antiochia in Roma. Pope Giulio III del Monte gave the church to Sant'Ignazio di Loyola, who founded the Germanic collegium. The luminous interior with a single nave with three chapels per side, absolutely not to be missed for the magnificent frescoes here contained. In a chapel dedicated to the Madonna defined "Della Fiducia", one venerates a very devoted image (fresco by the Umbrian school of the Fiftheen-Century) of the Vergine.
