Description
The Casa della Memoria e della Storia is an institution of the Municipality of Rome. It is managed and directed by different associations representing the recorded memory of anti-fascism, the Italian Resistance movement, the war of Liberation, the 20th century memory and by cultural institutes aiming at recreating, conserving and promoting such memory. It preserves and enhances the heritage of books, records, sound and audio visual media of all its members ensuring access and usability for the public, scholars and schools.
Its members are:
- the Associazione Nazionale Ex Internati (ANEI)
- the Associazione Nazionale Partigiani d'Italia (ANPI)
- the Associazione Nazionale Perseguitati Politici Antifascisti (ANPPIA)
- the Federazione Italiana Associazioni Partigiane (FIAP)
- the Federazione Nazionale Volontari della Libertà/Associazione Partigiani Cristiani (FIVL/APC)
- the Associazione Nazionale Ex Deportati nei campi nazisti (ANED)
- the Istituto Romano per la Storia d'Italia dal Fascismo alla Resistenza (IRSIFAR)
- the educational section and some sound and audiovisual archives of the Associazione culturale "Circolo Gianni Bosio"
- the coordination of the Società Italiana di Storia Orale.
The Casa della Memoria e della Storia will also be the seat for the "Centro telematico di storia contemporanea".
