Description
Inside the historical Casina delle Rose, one of the most beautiful areas of Villa Borghese, the building of the Casa del Cinema, completely restored, covers an area of 2,500 square meters. The heart of the building hosts an extraordinary movie house, the Sala Deluxe. It not only has the most modern projection and sound systems, but also last generation equipment for HD digital video projection, that can be connected to a satellite system. The Casa del Cinema is a venue for meetings and exchanges. The Sala Kodak, equipped for wide screen video projections, is a venue for congresses, debates, book presentations. In addition, there are two exhibit rooms dedicated to two great screen players, Sergio Amidei and Cesare Zavattini, a shopping centre specialized in DVD and a bookshop specialized in cinema and performing arts, a friendly restaurant-café called Cinecaffè Casina delle Rose. The daily program includes regular weekly fixtures: films and documentaries, meetings with directors, screenwriters and actors, homage to cinema celebrities and “cinema classes” with some of the most important directors in the world. The Casa del Cinema is managed by Zètema Progetto Cultura.
