In 1980, following the excavation of an embankment in the roadway, a large rectangular basin was brought to light, with a continuous bench against the inner perimeter walls.

In the centre of the basin a conical-helical fountain poured water into a series of small basins placed at different heights and communicating with each other, creating an effect of small waterfalls. The structure seems comparable to a natatio: the visitors could sit by the water contained in the basin, dry, on the counter. At a later stage the pool was transformed into an aquarium with the insertion of clay tubules for fish burrows.

The pool, from its original design, was probably part of the hortus of a villa.
