Description
The fountain is a work by the architect Cesare Bazzani built in 1925 on the spot where the Teatro Apollo rose before being demolished in 1888 to build the Tiber embankment. It consists of a sarcophagus decorated with a wavy motif and with above a marble stele delimited by two columns. Two theatrical masks instead of capitals are on top of the columns. The fountain is fed by the Acqua Marcia.
