Please note that most museums are generally closed on Mondays (with the exception of the Colosseum, Trajan's Market, Capitoline Museums, Ara Pacis Museum and Baths of Caracalla). We advise you to check in advance.

Roma Pass can be purchased:

  • Online (max 4 cards, method of payment: credit card Visa and Mastercard, one transaction only a day - any 24 hours- from the same computer). The card collection will be possible at one of the Tourist Information Points (PIT), 24 hours after the purchase date.

Roma Pass, which is sponsored by Rome City Council and the Ministry for the Arts and Cultural activities, in collaboration with ATAC, the public transport company, is the capital’s special tourist-cultural card that enables both tourists and interested local residents, the opportunity to benefit from various discounts and services that make it easier and cheaper to enjoy the splendours of Rome.

  • Free entry to the first 2 visited museums and / or archaeological sites of your choice. Free admission includes the exhibition held in the museum.  
  • Concessionary ticket to all other museums and / or archaeological sites visited thereafter. The concessionary ticket includes the exhibition held in the museum.  

NOTE: The following museums are admission free: Accademia Nazionale di San Luca, Museo Carlo Bilotti a Villa Borghese, Museo della Repubblica Romana e della memoria garibaldina, Museo delle Mura, Museo di Scultura Antica Giovanni Barracco, Museo Napoleonico, Museo Pietro Canonica a Villa Borghese, Villa di Massenzio.  

  • Free use of the city’s public transport network. Valid until midnight of the third day inclusive that of the first validation for ATAC public transport (bus, metro A, B and B1 and railway lines Roma-Lido, Roma Flaminio Piazza del Popolo-Viterbo, Roma-Giardinetti), within the territory of the Municipality of Rome.
  • Connection to and from Ciampino airport is possible by ATAC Bus line 720 from/to Laurentina Station Metro B.
  • All special connections tpl Atac, the railway lines Trenitalia FL, the connection Tiburtina/Termini/Fiumicino airport, the Trenitalia “No stop” connection Roma Termini-Fiumicino Airports (Leonardo Express) and all connections to and from Fiumicino Airport are not included
  • Discounted tickets to exhibitions, events and other collaborating operators and businesses (Roma Pass Guide).  
  • Tourist cultural services Roma è.

At the Musei Capitolini, Colosseum and National Museum of Castel Sant’Angelo, Roma Pass holders have direct access to the security check point, without standing in the ticket window line. Roma Pass holders can access to Coliseum security checks through the facilitated entrance dedicated to GROUPS.

The Kit includes:

  • The Roma Pass card: the card used to visit museums/archaeological sites and on the public transport system
  • Roma MAP: a map featuring all the Tourist Information Points, Metro stations, museums and other sites of interest (complete with addresses, phone numbers, opening times and nearest bus stops and metro stations)
  • Roma Pass Guide: a guide to all participating museums and sites and all the events and services for tourists offering discounts, including: art, dance, music, theatre, reviews, exhibitions, sightseeing tours, theme parks, as well as tourist services at the Lido in Ostia and MET Travel Health
  • Roma Passè: a card containing the App activation code to download the best of the city
  • Roma Informa: a card that provides details and informations on events and other useful services via internet


How to use it:

  • must be filled with name, surname and validation date
  • the card is valid for three days and is activated at the time of the first entry to the museums/sites, and/or at the first journey on public transport, up until the midnight of the third day, including the day of the activation
  • it is validated on the first visited site/museum or the first journey on the city’s public transport network
  • direct access for the first 2 sites. From the 3rd site onwards please ask at the ticket office for discount
  • it must be produced along with your identity papers when required by the staff in charge.

Roma Pass includes a wide network of Museums and Exhibition Halls in Rome, where you can use the card and take advantage of
two free admissions and concessionary tickets from the third entrance onwards. It also includes a rich program of events and
tourist services offering discounts and special prices to Roma Pass holders.

Please note that most museums generally are closed on Mondays (with the exception of the Colosseum, Trajan's Market, Capitoline Museums, Ara Pacis Museum and Baths of Caracalla).
Almost all the museums normally are closed on December 25, January 1 and May 1 too. We advise you to check in advance.
